Less Water: A Sustainable Approach to Denim
This concept investigates the urgent environmental issue of water overconsumption in the fashion industry, with a focus on denim production. The fashion sector is the second largest global consumer of water, and denim is one of the most water intensive products. A single pair of jeans can require up to 10,000 liters of water to produce highlighting the critical need for change.
Driven by alarming data, including projections of a 50% increase in water use by 2030, this project seeks to explore more sustainable methods in denim fabrication. It challenges current industrial processes that rely heavily on water for fabrication, washing, processing, and transportation, and aims to propose innovative solutions that reduce environmental impact.
This project is not just about fashion it is about preserving life on Earth. By raising awareness and proposing alternatives, Less Water reflects a commitment to ethical design, environmental consciousness, and a future where fashion respects natural resources.
