Triangle-Shaped Bag Design – A Tribute to Cultural Heritage

Human beings have always sought to leave a mark on history. From cave walls to stone carvings to woven textiles, each effort carries a story. On the journey to becoming a global brand, it is important to continue placing our own imprint in each creation. As a Turkish woman, I began this design journey with the purpose of preserving and carrying forward our national culture.

In traditional weaving, a design is conceived as a whole, with motifs functioning like words in a sentence. Instead of borrowing symbols from other cultures, I reinterpreted motifs we already own, combining them into a new visual language filled with meaning.

The triangle-shaped bag is more than an accessory. It is a contemporary expression of heritage, shaped by culture and symbolism.

The Evil Eye motif appears in its simplest geometric triangle form, representing stylized protection. Rather than using the motif as a surface pattern alone, it inspired the overall shape of the bag. Even those who do not believe in its power often recognize its significance.

The magnetic triangular flap provides both functionality and reflects the symbolic shape.

The Scorpion motif, traditionally used in Anatolia for protection, adds cultural depth to the design.

Cotton fabric was chosen for the main body to allow a lightweight, expandable form, offering comfort and practicality.

A round leather element, embossed with the brand’s initial, tightens the drawstring cords and secures the interior contents.

The leather pocket includes a hanging attachment, creating a functional detail with an elegant finish.

Fertility symbols within the pattern reflect the universe’s structure, the cycle of life and death, abundance, and lasting happiness.

The Tree of Life motif represents continuous growth and a spiritual journey upward. Its roots delve into the earth, its trunk connects with the sky, and its upper branches reach toward heaven, forming a link between earth and the divine.

The color palette, inspired by the Turkish Stone or turquoise, ranges from sky blue to deep green. Named by the French during the Crusades, turquoise is believed to be one of the strongest stones, symbolizing communication, loyalty, and friendship. It is also thought to protect against the evil eye.

This bag design is a thoughtful blend of function, symbolism, and storytelling, crafted to bring cultural memory into modern life.
