Reclaiming Waste into Desire

The fashion industry is one of the world’s largest polluters, responsible for around 10% of global carbon emissions and producing over 90 million tons of textile waste each year. Denim, in particular, is resource heavy a single pair of jeans can require up to 10,000 liters of water to produce.

This design challenges that cycle of excess. The upper is made from recycled denim, reusing discarded textiles to reduce waste and water impact. The heel accessory a sculptural snake detail is crafted from unsold or broken metal jewelry, sourced through a collaboration with a local store. Each piece carries the story of transformation: what was once unwanted becomes the defining feature of a new, conscious object.

By merging fashion waste and craftsmanship, this design questions consumption and redefines luxury as renewal, not excess.
